As a Principal at Wildfire Mitigation Strategies, Randy brings over 45 years of unparalleled expertise in wildland fire control and utility fire programs, making him a valuable asset to Athena Intelligence.
At Wildfire Mitigation Strategies, Randy has leveraged his extensive experience to deliver effective wildfire reduction solutions to utilities. His experience and dedication to the field enhances Athena Intelligence's work on behalf of power companies.
Prior to founding Wildfire Mitigation Strategies, Randy's illustrious career included serving as Fire Coordinator at San Diego Gas & Electric. At SDG&E, he played a crucial role in the Ignition Management Program. Prior to SDG&E, he was a Division Chief at the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE), where he had a series of roles over 32 years, during which was widely recognized as an early adopter and thought leader in GIS for wildland fire prevention and control.
A highly respected professional in the industry, Randy is a regular speaker at utility risk mitigation conferences and has been endorsed by numerous colleagues for his skills in various aspects of fire prevention and suppression. His strategic thinking, combined with his vast knowledge base, positions him as a key player in Athena’s ongoing efforts to address the challenges of wildfires.
